Day 01/ DELHI:

Arrive New Delhi.
Assistance on arrival and transfer to your hotel. Check-in time is 12 noon.

This phrase acquires a true colour when one goes around the lanes of Delhi. Delhi-- a window to the kaleidoscope that is India. From a string of historical monuments to modern commercial centers, Delhi has evolved into an exceptional and dynamic destination offering a wealth of shopping and sightseeing activities. Tourism in Delhi has undergone a sea change in recent times as the city is in the  process of a steady makeover.

DAY 02 /DELHI

Morning guided city sightseeing tour of Old Delhi visiting - the Red Fort - one of the magnificent places of the East with Divan-I-Aam where once stood the jeweled Peacock Throne, and the graceful Pearl Mosque, Jama Masjid which is considered the biggest in India, Chandni Chowk - a typical Bazaar with narrow lanes and traditional traders Raj Ghat where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated.

Afternoon guided city sightseeing tour of New Delhi visiting War Memorial Arch-India Gate, Parliament House, Qutub Minar-built in 12th century and Humayun’s  Tomb.

DAY 03 / DELHI - BHUBANESHWAR

Bhubaneswar, capital city of Orrisa in India, is very well known for the temples and shrines. The city can also be called as ' Temple Metropolis of India'. The city boasts of more than 500 temples. Although there was a time when the city had more than 7000 temples and shrines. Some of the temples are more than 2000 years old. These temples exemplify the art and architecture of ancient and medieval India. The construction dates back to 3rd century B.C. to 16th century A.D.

Day 04/ BHUBANESHWAR – PURI

Morning half day guided city sightseeing tour visitingLingaraj Temple, The Parasuramesvera Temple, Rajarani Temple and Khandagiri & Udayagiri Caves & other places of interest. With 600 temples in its treasure, the city is probable the only city in the world that presents an veritable over-view of the stages of development of Hindu religious architecture. Today these temples are a gentle reminder of the gracious past and the rich heritage of India.Temple is dedicated to Shiva as Lord Lingaraj. The temple represents the peak of achievement in Orissas middle period. The 54m spire of the temple dominates the Bhubaneswar landscape.
Later drive to Puri enroute visiting countryside.

Day 05/ PURI

Morning guided city sightseeing tour visiting Jagannath temple and Konark temple.
The temple of Lord Jagannath at Puri is one of the major Hindu pilgrimage destinations of India. With its roaring 65 mt high spire, the temple is visible even from the countryside. Decorated with four gates on each side, the temple also has a 16 sided monolithic pillar measuring 11 meters in height, Arunastambh; architectural zenith with exquisite carvings which was brought here from Konark in the 18th century. The temple also has the largest kitchen in the world serving around 10,000 devotees every day.At the end of Grand Road, about 3 km northeast of Jagannath temple, is the Gundicha Mandir. At the time of Rath Yatra festival, Lord Jagannath goes to Gundicha temple and stays there for a week. The city is dotted with numerous other shrines like Narasimha temple and Tota Gopinath temple.
konark Sun Temple.
The Temple City of Konark is situated in the eastern state of Orissa at a distance of around 65 km from Bhubaneswar and 35 km from Puri. Surya - the Sun Temple is a magnificent example of ancient Orissan temple architecture. The temple was built in 1250 AD, during the reign of the Eastern Ganga King Narasimhadeva-I (1238-640 AD). Carved out of black stone the Konark temple is the foremost specimen and one of the most vivid manifestations of Hindu architecture. Though the 'Black Pagoda' is in ruins, the remaining porch area and other structures of this temple complex remain as a jewel in the crown of Orissan artistry.

DAY 06 / PURI - GOPALPUR-ON-SEA BY SURFACE (165 KMS / 4 HRS)

Morning proceed to Gopalpur-on-sea enroute visiting countryside and transfer to your hotel.
Gopalpur-on-sea describes the serene environment amidst the madding crowd. It is located by the Bay of Bengal in the Ganjam District in Orissa. The place was once a port to maritime activities and still speaks of its prominence in Oriyan History. It is a beautiful and small beach resort located along the Bay of Bengal at a distance of around 180 km from Bhubaneswar. Originally a small fishing village on the coast of Orissa, it was so named when a temple dedicated to Lord Krishna was constructed some time in the 18th century. Apart from its temple, Gopalpur is distinguished for its magnificent beach where boating, yachting, and a seaside run invite visitors to share the expanse and have fun.

DAY 08 / GOPALPUR-ON-SEA

Morning excursion to Taptapani
Taptapani is a bubbling hot sulphur spring located about 67 km form Gopalpur in Ganjam District. It is surrounded by hills inhabited by the Orissan tribal. The sulphur present in the water is said to cure skin ailments such as scabies and eczema. The water, extremely-hot near the origin (900 to 1000 F), is canalized into a pond where people take their dip.

DAY 09 / GOPALPUR-ON-SEA – CHILKA – BHUBANESHWAR

Morning proceed to Bhubaneshwar enroute visiting Chilka Lake.
The largest brackish water lake in Asia, the Chilka Lake is situated at a distance of 121 km from Bhubaneswar. The lake supports a great variety of aquatic birds which arrive from as far as the Caspian Sea, Lake Baikal, Aral Sea, remote parts of Russia, Kirghiz steppes of Mongolia, Central and South East Asia, Ladakh and the Himalayas, to feed and breed in its fertile waters. Chilika Lake has a number of small islands. Some of the well known islands like Kalijal, Somolo, Nalabana, Honeymoon, Birds, Breakfast and Rajahansa are inhabited by fishermen families and are popular destinations for daily boat trips.
The Chilka Lake is not only about birds, another major attraction at the lake is Irrawady dolphins, which are often spotted off Satpada Island. Satpada is bounded by the lagoon on three sides, and presents an excellent view and draws tourists to its entire 30 km stretch of sand bar.

DAY 10 / BHUBANESHWAR OUT


Morning transfer to airport in time to board flight for onward destination. Check-out time is 12 noon.
